Leesburg High’s baseball aggregation nosed out the speedy,
nine from Orlando,
here last Friday by the score of 3 to 1. The game was full of excitement and
was hard fought by both teams until the last man was put out. Although twelve
errors were made by the two teams, very few came at critical times. The fast
infield work for the Tinker brothers for Orlando
more than made up for that teams errors.
“Buck” Robinson, Leesburg’s master pitcher, was undoubtedly “right,”
sending eleven Tiger “Lumber Slingers” to the bench via the strikeout route. Hudson for Orlando
pitched a splendid game, but failed to deliver in the pinches. The work of Ross
behind the bat for Leesburg was sensational. Not an Orlando runner stole off him and every one
that tried was easily nabbed. The two teams play in Orlando next Friday and a
large crowd of rooters is expected to accompany the team.
