Jacket Rally Falls Short As Parkers Win 7-4, April 20, 1960

The Leesburg Yellow Jacket baseball squad traveled to Harper-Shepherd Field in Winter Park Yesterday, but dropped a 7 to 4 decision to Winter Park High.
The Parkers got their margin of victory in a big fourth and sixth innings, scoring three runs in each.
A seventh-inning Leesburg rally produced two runs - but fell short of catching the Parkers five-run advantage at that point.
Batteries for Leesburg were Cyrus Huff and Bates. Williams and Hartung were the Winter Park batteries.

A three-run spurt in the fifth inning fave teh Leesburg yellow Jacekt baseball team a 4 to 1 victory over Apopka in a game played here last night.
Two singles and three Apopka bobbles contributed to the big inning, which gave the Jackets an Orange Belt conference victory.
Mumford held the Orange Countians well in check during most of the game. Chandler was the Apopka hurler.

DeLand's fastball pitching Burnett kept the L. H. S. baseball team scoreless last night with DeLand's 11 runs ending the game at the fifth inning.
Though Randy Brown and Barry Stegall hit in the third, Doug Mumford and Padgett (hitting for Hornstra) in the fourth, and Johnny ward in the fifth, Leesburg was unable to get a man past second base.
DeLand scored four runs in the first inning. In the third , a three base hit by Underhill opened the gate for five runs.
Barry Stegall, pitching for Leesburg, held the visitors to one hit in the fourth, but they scored two in the fifth.
